A great way to see what fellow professionals are doing in the field, literally.  It's a tour-packed day with lots of opportunity to network and learn something new or different.





 

 

 

 

 

 

September 5 - CPP Exam at Glacier Nursery from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.

September 6 - 

8:00 AM               Columbia Nursery  – The Connors will host breakfast at their beautiful nursery in Columbia Falls.  We look forward to learning about their business and touring their new garden shop.

9:30 AM               Silverbrook Estates – We will visit the outstanding waterfall entrance at this lovely premier custom home community designed and installed by Wagner Nursery & Landscape Company.

10:15 AM             Hooper’s Garden Center – we will visit Hooper’s in Kalispell which has grown to include 16 greenhouses, a large retail house and garden shop, production area, seminar room, seasonal bistro, and a new houseplants area.  

11:00 AM              Biggy’s Landscape Service – MNLA Board Member, Holly Wadsworth, and her husband, Adam,  will present one of their landscape projects near Big Fork.

12 Noon               Glacier Nursery – Brad and Desi Brown will host lunch at their nursery near Kalispell.  Enjoy an afternoon of demonstrations, education, and tours at their outstanding nursery.   

•·         Demonstrations:  Truck loading, cutting propagation, container planting, over wintering, chip budding

•·         Discussion:  Computer software for the nursery, inventory control and personnel procedures

•·         Tours:   Container shrubs, perennial and trees followed by a tour of the Ball and Burlap trees, bare root trees and field grown shrubs and perennials

•·         Pruning and cultural procedures:  Herbicides, fertilizer, irrigation, and pesticide applications

•·         Discussion/demonstration of 2” trees Ball and Burlap compared to 25 gallon container

 

6:00 PM                BBQ at Glacier Nursery

TRANSPORTATION:  Drive your own car or carpool with a friend.  Maps of the route will be available at the Holiday Inn Express as well as all tour stops.

HOTEL:  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express at 275 Treeline Road in Kalispell.  Please phone 406-755-7405 to reserve your room under the MNLA room block by August 23.  The rate is $149 per night plus tax.
